THE Gallery café and bistro in Chard is holding an exhibition of paintings by the late artist Anton Matthews to raise money for charity.
The exhibition, which runs until July 4, includes a silent auction of all the artwork on display, with most of the proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Anton trained as a painter at Cheltenham College of Art and Reading University before being elected an academician of the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art.
He moved to the West Country after he retired as head teacher of the Rugby School of Art and lived in Chard until his death in early 2008.
Anton’s sons Keith and Paul Matthews are pictured at the launch of the exhibition at The Gallery.
