ORGANISERS of the Chardstock Street Fayre are hoping to raise funds for this year’s event at an open air concert next Saturday (June 26).
The family event, held at Chardstock Park and Community Hall, will feature music from the Wessex Big Band, alongside various guest vocalists.
The 20-piece big band are set to perform a range of numbers from the 30s, 40s and 50s, with songs by legends such as Glenn Miller and Count Basie.
They will be joined on stage by a roster of talented local singers, including former Chard’s Got Talent winners Stevie Brown and Silvey Webber.
A barbeque will be running all evening, with soft drinks also available.
Guests are invited to bring their own refreshments and picnic blankets, although chairs will be provided.
Gates open at 7pm and entry costs £5 for adults, free for under 16s, with all proceeds going to the Chardstock Street Fayre, on September 4.
Tickets are available from Chardstock post office – for more information call 01460-261141.
