Students are celebrating a strong set of GCSE results at Holyrood Academy.
Pupils at the school in Chard were praised for their performance in both GCSE and Level 2 vocational qualifications, with staff and families marking the achievements of the class of Year 11 students.
Outgoing headteacher Dave MacCormick said: "We are incredibly proud of another much-improved set of GCSE results for Holyrood Academy.
"I would like to congratulate every Year 11 student and to wish them the very best of luck as they take their next steps into our Sixth Form or into College or Apprenticeship.
"I am certain that they will go on to achieve great things."
Mr MacCormick also praised the dedication of the academy's staff and the progress made by students from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with special educational needs.
Deputy headteacher Saffron Lee said: "Our fabulous students worked so hard, demonstrating such resilience and fortitude throughout the gruelling exam period, which saw some take up to 30 papers.
"Whilst I am delighted to see that hard work pay-off in exam success, I am also so proud of the remarkable young adults that this cohort are becoming, and their character, kindness, humour and drive.
"I would like to thank, in particular, Mr. Andy Easton, for his guidance and leadership of Year 11; and all the parents and carers that have no doubt, felt every moment of living with a very stressed teenager over the past few months!"

Incoming headteacher Joe Bispham said: "it is brilliant to see the hard work of these amazing students.
"It only makes me more excited to be working as part of this wonderful team and community next year".
High achievers included Isla Brun, who earned three grade 9s, one distinction star, one grade 8 and three grade 7s; Nathan Caires, with two grade 9s, one distinction, three grade 8s and two grade 7s; Thomas Hill, who achieved four grade 9s, one distinction, one grade 8 and two grade 6s; and Kieran Ousley, who secured four grade 9s, one distinction star and three grade 6s.
Students who achieved a grade 9 or distinction star in at least one subject included Sean Ballinger, Jude Blackmore-Wynn, Florence Brun, Isla Brun, Nathan Caires, Georgiana Guest, Theo Hewitt, Thomas Hill, Ella Jay, Erin Loxton, Kieran Ousley, Iolo Simpson, Poppy Spencer, Aaron Taylor, Elliott Trahar, Melee Wilks, Elijah Stanbury, Luc Brown, Isla Cormack, Ellie Rogers, Mica Seymour, Ellie White and Alisha Powell.
Staff were available in the academy’s main hall on Thursday, August 20, to support any Year 11 student needing guidance.
