A Somerset holiday destination has celebrated the opening of its new £11m water attraction.

Unity Beach in Brean debuted the new facilities following significant investment from new owners.

The upgrades include festival gardens, the Wonky Donkey pub/restaurant, a sports bar, a hi-tech arcade, and various new activities.

The resort is close to one of Europe's longest sandy beaches and offers a range of accommodation options.

The indoor pool now features lanes, a children's splash area, and two flumes.

Outside, the new lido boasts three more flumes, two pools, over 200 sun loungers, and 15 cabanas available for daily hire.

The resort offers day activities for children, such as wizard workshops and arts and crafts.

In the evening, there are live shows for the whole family.

Unity Beach has long been favoured by holidaymakers for its blend of traditional charm and modern amenities.

The recent investment is expected to enhance its appeal further, with the park's new features now open to the public.
