A primary school in South Somerset has won a top national award for outdoor play.
Tintinhull Primary School, located four miles west of Yeovil, received the OPAL platinum award with an impressive score of 97 out of 100 - one of the highest awarded.
The award recognises excellence in outdoor play and learning environments, with recognition for the way the children play and how they explained it to the judge from OPAL, as well as for the play charter they established themselves.
Hayley Robinson, headteacher at Tintinhull, said: "I’m really proud of the children.
"The pool is a great success in this hot weather, and there is always a queue.
"Play is an important part of our curriculum at St Margaret's as it is social, fun, and encourages sharing and communicating.
"Pupils love it as they always have wellies and waterproofs for playing time in the rain (when it rains!).
"What's better than jumping in puddles?"
