A Somerset-born student helped her team secure fourth place in a golf tournament in the USA.
Megan Wilde, a student at Iowa's Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in the US state of Iowa, scored 13 over par 83 at the William Penn Spring Statesmen Shootout.
She helped the DMACC women’s golf team achieve fourth place overall.
The Somerset-born golfer’s efforts led to her individually finishing in fourth place.
Her team, the Bears, produced an 18-hole total of 354 strokes at the April 8 tournament, 25 strokes behind the winning total set by Indian Hills Community College.
Upper Iowa University secured second place with 341 strokes.
Addison Weber, from Upper Iowa University, clinched the medalist title with a 7-over-par 77.
Elsewhere in the Bears team, Haley Loonan and Hannah Kenkel both shared the tenth spot, while Isabella Ross and Sydney Helgeson finished 19th and 26th, respectively.
Loonan and Kenkel both carded 88 rounds, Ross a 95, and Helgeson finished with 98.
Looking ahead, the DMACC women’s golf team is preparing for the Waterloo Intercollegiate at Gates Park Golf Course on April 17 and 18.
DMACC, a highly regarded two-year institution in the US, provides an array of more than 220 credit and non-credit programs, degrees, and certificates.
Besides its on-campus offerings across six campuses, the college also operates seven learning centres and DMACC Online, drawing in over 55,000 students each year.
Students from every state in the nation and 41 countries now attend DMACC.
