Yeovil Town Holdings Limited receives strike-off notice

A First Gazette notice for compulsory strike-off has been posted against Yeovil Town Holdings Limited, the company linked to the running of Yeovil Town Football Club.

In a statement, the club said the action followed ‘a minor administrative discrepancy’ during new director identity verification checks.

The notice is a formal announcement from Companies House, published in The London Gazette, indicating their intent to dissolve a company.

The notice is the first step in a process that can see a company eventually be closed and legally stopped from existing if an identified issue is not resolved.

Yeovil Town said the problem related to the formatting of a non‑UK director’s name in line with their passport, under recently introduced Companies House rules for directors based overseas.

The club added that it is working with the relevant authorities to address the problem and said it expects the matter to be resolved ‘within the next few days’.

It has characterised the issue as administrative rather than an indication of wider financial or governance problems at the club, and reassured fans that the day-to-day running of the club won't be affected.

In a statement, the club said: “This has arisen due to a minor administrative discrepancy during the director identity verification process, following the introduction of new Companies House requirements.

"The issue relates to a formatting difference in a director’s name in line with passport documentation for directors who are non-UK residents.

"We are working with the relevant authorities to resolve the matter and expect it to be addressed within the next few days.

"This is an administrative matter only, and there is no impact on the day-to-day running of the football club."
