Haynes Motor Museum near Yeovil unveils new exhibit

Between Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 22, the museum will showcase a striking temporary exhibit, a 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa Turbo, among its over 300-strong collection of cars and motorcycles.

This iconic superbike, famed for its notable speed and engineering, joins a selection of motorcycles usually hidden from public view.

The special display aims to provide fresh stories and perspectives on designing, performing, and innovating motorcycles.

Guests will also find behind-the-scenes tours of the Haynes Heritage Engineering workshop during weekdays at 12.15pm for £5.

The tours give people insight into the history of the museum and offer a closer look at car restoration projects.

For families keen on interactive activities, the '80s family trail transports visitors back to the museum's opening period, offering a glimpse into the cars displayed at that time.

For a somewhat faster-paced activity, guests can try the Scalextric track and remote-controlled racing circuits, both Somerset-themed and included in the admission.

Younger petrolheads can expend their energy in the Haynes Motorland outdoor play area, boasting motoring-themed equipment, tricycles, diggers, and coin-operated go-karts.

After a day of exploration, guests can unwind and refuel in the onsite café.

Visitors are reminded that every ticket becomes an annual pass, allowing for free repeat visits across the year.
