POLICE closed off a road near Yeovil Junction railway station, following a crash on Monday (January 12) involving a van that ended up on on its side.
At 7.09am, Avon and Somerset Police received a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a van on Newton Road.
Officers at the scene closed the road while a van was recovered – causing disruption and delays as drivers were unable to reach the station along that route.
Rail services at the station continued to operate as normal during the closure, yet drivers heading that way were recommended to take an alternative route and allow themselves extra time while the police road closure remained in place.
The police have since reopened the road as of 9.30am after the van was recovered and police have confirmed that no one was injured from the crash.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “At 7.09am we received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Newton Road, near Yeovil.
“Officers attended and closed the road while the van involved was recovered. It reopened at about 9.30am."
The police spokesperson added: “No one was injured.”
