A rare 1912 motorcycle is set to go under the hammer in Somerset, over a century after it first hit the road.
The Rudge Multi 500cc is one of the star lots in Charterhouse’s upcoming specialist auction of veteran, vintage, and classic motorcycles, taking place on Thursday, October 9, at The Haynes Motor Museum.
George Beale, motorcycle consultant at Charterhouse, said: "I have had the pleasure to see and auction many veteran motorcycles over the years but consider the Rudge Multi one of the best bikes of its time as it embodied a blend of innovative technology and practical utility."
Originally purchased in 1969 as a dismantled project, the Rudge was restored over three years by its current owner and went on to win Best Veteran Motorcycle at the Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show in 2020.
It is expected to fetch between £20,000 and £25,000.
