A thoughtful donation of sunflower seeds has sparked joy and connection at Horton Cross Nursing Home.
The seeds, gifted by a generous individual at Monks Yard, were lovingly planted and nurtured by the residents.
Each sunflower, now standing tall, has been named and tagged by either a resident or a staff member, becoming a symbol of growth and joy.
The activity has encouraged outdoor interaction and engagement among the residents, providing many uplifting moments.
The residents have even come together to sing You Are My Sunshine amidst the blooming sunflowers.
The tallest sunflower, last measured at nine feet and four inches, is a testament to the care and attention given by the residents.
The nursing home believes these are some of the tallest sunflowers grown this summer.
It also said the project has brought their community closer together.
