A MAN has sustained “life changing” injuries after being hit by a Range Rover on the A303 between Cartgate, Yeovil, Somerset and Podimore on December 21.
The A303 Road was fully closed eastbound both ways by authorities on Saturday between the A3088 Cartgate, Yeovil and the A37 Podimore, following the “serious” incident.

Witnesses are currently being sought after the collision by the Avon and Somerset Police.

The police received reports that a pedestrian and a grey Range Rover had collided on the eastbound carriageway at around 7.10pm on Saturday, December 21.
Police officers attended alongside the ambulance service and closed the road, which reopened at around 9.45pm that same evening.
A man – the pedestrian – was taken to hospital after the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust send two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer and a critical care car to the scene.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 19:02hrs on Saturday 21 December to a road traffic collision near Podimore. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer, and a critical care car to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital”
According to the police, the man was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be potentially “life-changing”, but not life-threatening. No one else was injured.
The Avon and Somerset Police said: “If you witnessed the collision or were travelling on the A303 in the area around the time of the collision and have dashcam footage please contact us.”
