THE new McDonald’s store in Ilminster “is on track to open tomorrow” (Wednesday, September 20).
Confirmation that the new restaurant and drive-thru would officially open arrived last month.
The news was shared on the takeaway giant’s official Facebook page on Sunday, August 27, with the post stating: “Your new McDonald’s is coming soon.
“Opening on 20th September at 11am. McDonald’s Restaurant, Ilminster, TA19 9FF.”
A McDonald’s spokesperson confirmed today (September 19) that “the restaurant is on track to open tomorrow”.
McDonald’s submitted plans in November 2021 to build a new outlet on a vacant plot within the Southfields Enterprise Park on the western edge of Ilminster, just off the A303.
The new restaurant is expected to create up to 65 permanent jobs, with salaries starting at £11 per hour.
