THE WORST GP surgery for ‘overall satisfaction’ in the latest NHS patients’ survey said they “must improve access to support and healthcare appointments”.

Church Street Surgery in Martock, with 48.71 per cent, was at the bottom of the list of surgeries for patients’ satisfaction in South Somerset after the recent NHS survey.

Patients were asked to rate their GPs according to the following criteria and these were the results for Church Street Surgery in Martock.

• Ease of getting through on the phone, 35%

• Helpful receptionists, 81%

• Easy to use website, 59%

• Experience of making an appointment, 39.90

• Satisfaction with appointment times, 33%

• How often patients see or speak to their preferred GP, 25%

• At last appointment how confident were you in the healthcare professional 97.06

• Overall satisfaction, 49%

A spokesperson for Symphony Healthcare Services, which runs Martock Surgery, said: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill in the GP survey.

“The results give us valuable information about where we need to improve and show that we must improve patients’ access to support and advice, and healthcare appointments.
