YOUNG people from South Somerset are being offered the chance to improve their surroundings and find new opportunities in their area.
Somerset County Council is inviting people aged between 11 and 19 to apply for grants to improve their resources, such as in Ilchester where teenagers turned a vandalised skate park into an art project.
Three different funds are available; the Youth Bank from the County Council is available for 11-19 year olds to gain skills such as sailing or horse riding, the Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Fund are on offer to improve things to do and places to go.
