THE head teacher of Chard School has taken on a new role.
John Stotesbury was appointed chairman of the Old Cerdics' Association at their recent annual meeting.
The association, which was founded in 1929, aims to foster the spirit of former pupils and teachers of Chard School and to enable its members to keep in touch with each other.
Mr Stotebury said he is honoured to be taking on the role and added that he is anxious to promote social events for younger Old Cerdics, particularly those who joined after 1971.
A committee meeting has been arranged for September 25 where suggestions from former pupils will be welcomed.
