CHARD runner James Winter has donated £1,500 to Avishayes Pre-School from taking part in the London Marathon.
James raised over £3,000 in total in the gruelling 26-mile event, which has been split between Avishayes and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The father of two, who delivers milk in Sherborne, wanted to support the pre-school as it is attended by his youngest daughter Abi, two.
He received a thank you card and a bottle of bubbly from tots and staff today (Wednesday).
Pre-school manager Donna Pons said: "We are so grateful to James and want to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored him.
"The money will be used to buy new bikes and equipment for our outdoor play area."
