THINGS were a bit different at The Redstart Primary School in Chard when Holly Potter was made 'Head of School' for the day.
Holly won the right to temporarily take over as a prize at a family bingo night organised by the Friends of Redstart School.
The Year 6 pupil took part in several activities during the day, including checking behaviour at break time, giving out stickers for excellent work, assisting during superstar assembly and shortlisting art entries for the Trust Art competition.
Holly was given her own lanyard to wear, all the children and teachers called her Miss Potter and she received a certificate to commemorate her special day.
Some of the teachers who asked for a day off or if they could go home early were quickly put in their place.
Rebecca Collins, who had a hard act to follow when she resumed her role as head of school the following day, said: "It was great to put my feet up for the day and let Miss Potter take on the job of being head for the day.

"She was good-natured and professional in her approach and did an excellent job.”
'Miss Potter' said: "My favourite part of the day was going around the classes because I got to see all of the children.
"I also liked doing assembly. It was good and a really fun day.”
