Afternoon tea with a difference is bringing people together for a slice of nostalgia and cake.

Airedale Senior Social, run by Keighley Cougars and West Yorkshire Police, is a memories group for people living with dementia, loneliness and/or low mood.

Depression is common side effect of the condition, often caused by social isolation, medication, lack of sleep and more.

Run by PCSO Ben Verdeyen, the free group takes place every Monday between 11am and 1pm in the President’s Suite at Cougar Park.

PCSO Verdeyen, who covers the Shipley/Saltaire/Nab Wood beat, said: “Each session features music, games and light refreshments and each month we’re aiming to have a guest speaker to share their life experience.

“We offer afternoon tea, prosecco and laughter.”

An Access bus is available from Shipley.
