Keeley Sharp, Development Director at LNT has said:

“Our mission is to provide every elderly person in England the option of a high-quality place to live, that provides an excellent quality of life and care. Our care homes provide this, in a fit for purpose home designed to be responsive to their changing needs.

This scheme will give local older people an opportunity to stay living locally and maintain the important connections established throughout their lives. The site is perfect for this, given its location within an established and vibrant residential community, with excellent access to public transport and day-to-day amenities.

This proposal offers a significant opportunity to contribute to Chard’s sustainable growth and will generate significant economic, social and environmental benefits for the local community; including new employment and training opportunities during construction and once open, with 50-60 roles to be created to run the home.

We are really keen to promote and deliver these proposals and the associated benefits, and aim to start doing so within 16 months of gaining planning permission.”

Neighbouring residents and local councillors have been consulted on the proposals, which will soon be submitted to South Somerset Council for consideration.
