What the punters say: “I have called in here a number of times in the last couple of months when visiting Taunton as the Coal Orchard is quite close to the station. There is usually a decent selection of real cider in boxes, and I have also eaten here on a couple of occasions recently. The food has been good and well presented, and the service always friendly.”
“We always eat in Wetherspoons if we can. This one in Taunton was very good and lots of dark wood, well-spaced tables, fantastic toilets! We chose chicken and chips. The chicken was done just right and we always remark that Wetherspoon chips are the best. They must follow a particular recipe! And of course it's free tea and coffee, as much as you like! We love Wetherspoons!”

Staff were great and couldn’t do enough for us. Room was fab for the money and I got a great meal on a budget which hit the spot. I’ll defo be back and recommend a stay here. It’s not The Ritz, but it’s cheap, cheerful, cosy, friendly and with good rooms.”
“Really pleased lockdown has eased. We love this place, convenient when we're shopping in Minehead and so reasonable. I really couldn't put this lot together for this price. Yummy.”

The three members of staff that I interacted with were really lovely people and our food arrived incredibly quickly. I think it’s easy to tar all Wetherspoons with the same brush, but I will remember in future that all locations are run by different teams and this one didn’t feel like a big chain, the staff actually stop to have a conversation and it really makes a difference.”
“After visiting a few years ago before the refurb we said if in the area again we would come back. Finally did and was great. Refurb has cleaned it up without to big a change. Outside area nice if sunny. Food great. Came twice.”

The meal was really good, maybe served a little on the cool side. However we both enjoyed our meals. The service was great, and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. Will definitely visit again when we are in Weston.”
“Stopped off here for a pint and if we had more time we would have stayed longer. It was so clean and well presented, there were staff constantly clearing up and making sure everything was clean. The bar tender was so cheerful and he made us feel really welcome. And the food looked amazing. Will definitely return if we visit this part of the country again.”

Food came quickly (used the app) staff very pleasant and helpful. Good value food and will definitely come again.”
“Hadn’t been here before but wow, what a transformation of this huge building - formerly a cinema I regularly frequented as a child. As we visited during school holidays and on a day where you could get 50 per cent off your meals it was very busy but there were still plenty of places to sit both inside and out. We chose the garden as unusually we were having a heat wave! Ordered at the bar and within six minutes our food had arrived. Everything as ordered, all piping hot and well presented. Five of us had mains with a drink for under £18 all in! Staff friendly, great family atmosphere will definitely return. The whole premise is well appointed with lovely modern decor.”

Quick service, polite staff, hot food and nothing too much trouble, like asking for my table to be wiped and for mango chutney with my curry. Even got a check back to see all was well with the food. Some top restaurants aren’t this good. Tough times and staff shortages in a lot of places these days and so felt this branch of Spoons should get the credit they deserve. Thank you!”
