A PROMINENT Taunton town centre site is being offered for development - and could see development.

The land, in the Upper High Street, close to Vivary Park, Taunton, is being offered for sale by development land and planning specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

A detailed planning consent for 14 one-bedroom apartments, associated amenity space, bike and bin storage was agreed in 2006.

However, this permission has now lapsed, but the principle of development on the site has been established and GTH believe the planning authority will support it.

Graham Ford, the partner at GTH who is marketing the land, said: “ We believe the development site will be of interest to residential developers and possibly investors seeking to build and retain the apartments for rental purposes.”

The agent says the site is in unrivalled position to enjoy the delights of the park, which is one of Taunton’s most attractive open spaces and the venue for the annual flower show, dubbed 'The Chelsea of the West'.

The agents are quoting an asking price of £250,000 and the site extends to around 5,188 sq ft.
