UPDATE: Streaming company Driift tweeted an open-access link at around 8.45pm, giving music lovers access to the stream without having to enter an access code.

MANY festival lovers have been left disappointed so far this evening as they attempt to watch the Glastonbury Festival live stream event, Live At Worthy Farm.

What appears to be a technical glitch has left scores of people receiving an 'invalid code' message when attempting to login to watch the event.

The problem affected many of those who attempted to join the stream at the start time of 7pm, with those who have successfully tuning in saying they had joined earlier in the evening.

Streaming firm Driift, which is powering the show, said in a tweet: "We're looking into the issues of invalid codes urgently.

"If you're having issues with the live stream, please do not fret, you'll be able to rewind once you're in."

The obvious problem there though is that with a five-hour show, it means people will be later finishing their viewing.

The problems come as thousands across the country set up 'Glasthomebury'-style events, recreating the festival in their homes and gardens, in a bid to create their own atmopshere.

And it comes after the last two festivals have had to be called off due to the coronavirus.

The festival tweeted: "So sorry to those of you who haven't been able to get onto the stream yet.

"We're speaking to Driift to find out what the issue is and trying to do everything we can to get this sorted ASAP.

"Please bear with us."
