AREAS of Somerset have some of the lowest Covid-19 infection rates in the country, according to the latest figures.
The latest rolling seven-day figures show:
South Somerset has an infection rate of 3.6 cases per 100,000 people;
In Somerset West and Taunton the rate is 6.4 per 100,000;
In Sedgemoor it is 14.6 per 100,000;
and in Mendip it is 5.2 per 100,000.
The Somerset-wide rate is 7.1 per 100,000; in the South West it is 9.2 per 100,000; in England the figure is 21 per 100,000; and across the whole UK it is 22 per 100,000.
