The research was conducted by motorhome rental company, Camptoo, which ranked UK campsites on popularity, weather, air quality and nearby landmarks.

Higher Moor Farm is an award winning, family orientated campsite located in the village of Nottington. It caters for tents, caravans and and motorhomes as well as offering boutique camping pods and lodges.

Daniel Smy manages the Higher Moor Farm campsite and attributed much of the campsite's success to the staff's "ability to offer the upmost friendliness and cleanliness" to visiting campers.

He said: "All the team are absolutely thrilled that we have been named the top campsite in this list.

"We all work so hard during the camping season to ensure that we offer a unique experience to the thousands of campers who stay with us through out the year and receiving such an accolade makes us all feel very proud."

On being named the most 'Instagrammable' campsite, Mr Smy said: "Laura Kimber, the social media manager works day and night to develop our presence on social media platforms such as Instagram."

Kevin flower, owner of the site, said: “We are very lucky to have Laura working for us and her refreshing posts are an assets to the farm campsite. We are absolutely over the moon to hear we are the most Instagramable campsite in the UK”

Ed Bassett, Camptoo’s Head of Wanderlust, said on the research: “This was a really interesting piece of research to be involved with and it gave us some very unexpected results.

“We knew national parks would dominate the list, but had no idea just how much with an impressive seven campsites making the list from parks all across the UK.

“Ultimately, the competition is fierce as we have an amazing choice of campsites throughout the country and are spoilt for choice.

“It will be interesting to see if any of these results change over the coming months with campsites beginning to open their doors to the public again and record numbers expected with travel restrictions meaning Brits are more likely to book a staycation this summer."
