A WELLINGTON woman attacked a man and destroyed a number of his personal items, Taunton Magistrates' Court heard.

Sally Prouse, 48, of Penny Close, pleaded guilty to assault by beating in the town on February 23 last year. She was fined £40 with a £32 victim surcharge

She also admitted destroying the victim's work tools, pool cue and other personal items in February last year.

She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £140 compensation.

Prouse was found not guilty of another county of assault by beating and of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

A MOTORIST who admitted driving without due care and attention has kept his licence - because he sends money home to his family.

Kiril Mitkov Staykov, 25, of Bristol Road, Weston-super-Mare, was handed three penalty points for the offence in Alexandra Parade, Weston, on July 19 last year.

But he was not disqualified under the totting up system as he sends money to his family and because his girlfriend and her father rely on him to drive.

Staykov was fined £106 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £110 costs

KEVIN James Townsend, 48, of no fixed address, was found guilty of failing to provide police with information relating to the driver of a vehicle.

He was fined £660 for the offence at Bridgwater Police Station on May 9 last year and ordered to pay a £65 victim surcharge.

He received six penalty points on his licence.

Townsend was banned from driving for two years for using a motor vehicle without insurance at The Cliffs, Cheddar, on 19 June last year. He was fined a further £660.

He received no further penalty for driving without the correct licence.
