PEOPLE in Somerset are being asked to host their own G&T party for charity.
St Margaret’s Hospice Care are asking residents to raise a glass to help support patients and families facing a life-limiting illness.
You are being invited to invite friends and family into your garden (provided you stick to the rule of six and social distance), or host a virtual party.
Kara Frampton, area manager for community partnerships at St Margaret’s Hospice Care, said: “It has been a difficult year for everyone but we hope that people will be able reunite and have fun by hosting their own Great Somerset G&T Party in aid of the hospice.
“You can host a party socially distanced in the comfort of your own garden or virtually.
"To help support your party you can request a free fundraising pack complete with a poster, recipe card, banner and cardboard collection box.
“We hope that the Great Somerset G&T Party will inspire people to host their own special social events and raise much needed funds to help us continue to care for people across the county.
“The Great Somerset G&T party is a year-long campaign so there’s ample opportunity to organise your party at a time and place to suit you.
"You could invite your family round for a gin and tonic, have a cuppa with your neighbours, host a gin-themed afternoon tea or organise a work night – the choice is yours!”
