A COMMUNITY campaign to save a much-loved village pub got a boost after an Easter fundraiser.

Nearly £300 was raised for the Save the Dragon Pub campaign over the bank holiday weekend when more than 100 children and families joined in a Covid-safe Easter Dragon Egg Hunt around Combe St Nicholas.

Three lucky raffle winners also took home chocolate prizes presented by Georgina Vye, of St Nicholas Church.

The event was set up by the campaign group to raise awareness for a potential community buyout of the Green Dragon, which closed last year.

There are more events planned in the village through summer.
