RED Nose Day fun is not just for children at school...as one care home in Yeovil demonstrated on Friday (March 19).

Staff at West Abbey Care in Yeovil took part in a superhero fancy dress day and bake sale to raise money for Comic Relief.

Resident’s also joined in the fun - with activities consisting of quizzes and crosswords.

Residents, their relatives and staff at West Abbey were all very supportive and were there to cheer on the participants as they began the fundraising challenge.

Caroline Carter, general manager at West Abbey Care Home, said: “Taking part in Red Nose Day has been a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has been behind us all the way

“ It’s for such an important cause and residents have been great.

“I’m very glad to be able to do my bit to raise further awareness and money for the charity.”

Staff managed to raise £82 from the cake sale for Comic Relief.

Comic Relief spends the money raised by Red Nose Day to help people living tough lives across the UK and internationally.

Since its launch in 1988, Red Nose Day has become a British institution when people across the country get together to raise money at their home, school and work.

This year has been challenging whilst more people work at home, but the charity still needs to raise funds so every penny raised counts. There was still a night of TV on the BBC, full of comedy and entertainment to inspire the nation to give generously.
