A WOMAN has died following a crash involving two cars on a Somerset road this morning (Wednesday).
Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision on the A367 at Dunkerton Hill, near Peasedown St John, at around 10.45am.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "A woman driving one of the cars involved in the collision sadly died as a result of her injuries.
"The driver of a second car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
"The road remains closed while the scene is examined.
"If your journey is necessary, please avoid the area and use alternative routes."
The spokesperson added: "We’re appealing for anyone who saw this collision, and hasn’t yet spoken with the police, to come forward, as well as anyone with Dash Cam footage which may be relevant to this investigation.
