SOMERSET has woken up this morning (Thursday) to a snow and ice warning from the Met Office.
The 'yellow warning' is in place until 11am.
We're being told that icy patches and wintry showers may cause some travel disruption.
We can expect:
Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services;
Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces;
Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
Temperatures are currently below 0degsC and look like reaching a maximum of 1degsC by 11am - although it will feel like minus 5degs C due to the wind chill factor.
There are likely to be some snow flurries in the late afternoon.
Probably a good idea to stay indoors unless you really need to go out.
Stay safe.
