THE victims of a burglary were woken up as the thieves struck was being committed.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a white van leaving the scene of the incident in Wincanton.

The burglars got away with a range of tools and other items including:

  • a full snap-on tool chest;
  • De Walt jigsaw, combi drill and impact driver;
  • a Parker petrol multi-tool with hedge trimmer and chain saw attachment
  • a petrol generator with a blue tank.

The break-in happened overnight on Monday into Tuesday in Rodber Close.

The van was seen being driven off at about 12.04am yesterday morning (Tuesday). It travelled up Springfield Road, onto Dancing Lane and then West Hill.

Officers are appealing for witnesses, dashcam and CCTV footage of the white van spotted leaving the scene.

Police attended the scene and searched the area for the van with no trace. House-to-house enquiries have been made.
