A FIRE engine and ambulance skidded on ice and became stuck at the side of the road today.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service are advising people to take care and remember the "dangers of black ice" after the incident this morning (January 8).
The fire engine, and following ambulance, skidded on the ice near Langport on their way to a similar incident - but lukily no one was harmed.
"No one was harmed in the incident and officers were sent to the scene to provide welfare support,"said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
"Several other fire appliances had been sent to deal with the original incident and the people involved were also safe and well.
"This highlights the dangers of black ice, even for well trained and experienced drivers. With freezing conditions expected to continue into the weekend, we advise people to take extra care on the roads and only travel if absolutely essential."
