THE Met Office is warning the current cold spell could lead to disruption across Somerset.
It has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice in the county and much of the rest of the country lasting until Sunday.
Overnight temperatures will dip below 0degsC and barely rise above freezing during the daytime.
The level of warning means there are likely to be icy stretches, leading to some disruption to travel, with snow falling in some places.
People are advised to expect some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces; probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths; and some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
