A DRIVER was rescued from half a metre of flood water this morning (December 12).
Fire crews were called to the incident at Pipplepen Lane, Crewkerne, at 11.27am.
The driver was stuck in his vehicle, which was submerged in approximately half a meter of flood water.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "The Fire Service received a call from a member of the public requesting our assistance.
"Fire engines from Crewkerne, Yeovil and the Special Rescue Team from Bridgwater were sent to this incident.
"Crews wore wading gear to rescue the male from his vehicle.
"The male driver has now been released."
