A CLAIM has been made for a £500,000 lottery prize on a ticket bought in Somerset.

Camelot, which runs the lottery, has revealed it has received a claim for the Thunderball top prize from the draw on August 14 this year.

The lucky ticket-holder, who matched the five main numbers and the Thunderball number in the draw, scooped an amazing £500,000.

As with all major prizes, the claim will now go through the process of validation, before the prize is confirmed.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “It is fantastic news that the lucky ticket-holder has now claimed their prize.

"We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder through the process.

"We’re encouraging all National Lottery players to check their tickets online on the National Lottery app or website, or in their local store.

"You can scan your retail draw-based game tickets on The National Lottery App to see if you’ve won a prize."

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.

Anyone who has any queries or who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email help@national-lottery.co.uk
