OWNER of an antiques shop in Chard has just started a new venture.

Stuart Bull opened his shop in 2018 and has now launched DP House Clearance next door.

The new shop provides second-hand items including antique, vintage and contemporary furniture, as well as decorative items and white goods.

"I understand that since Furnicare closed down it has been missed by many people, and the only alternative is to travel to Taunton or Yeovil," said Stuart.

"Hopefully now, having opened my new shop: DP House Clearance, at 20 Fore Street, Chard, I can save you a journey, I offer free delivery within TA20 on most items and price my stock to compete with auction prices."

After buying a well-established house clearance business earlier in the year, Stuart has now decided to open up a used furniture outlet to sell the items.

He has enjoyed working in his antiques shop in Chard and is looking forward to the future of DP House Clearance.

"When I opened the antiques shop, I was made to feel at home in the town by all I met and wanted to make a contribution to the community that had welcomed me" he added.

"Also, having a background in agriculture I believe deeply in acting responsibly towards nature by avoiding waste and recycling wherever possible.

"This leads to my love of antiques and the well-made, solid furniture of days gone by, which can last a lifetime, be passed on to others and are a sustainable alternative to today’s short-lived, cheaply made products."

DP House Clearance opened yesterday and will be open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 1pm. To get in touch with Stuart call 07752 106586.
