A NEW scheme will see 80 affordable new homes built in Bridgwater.
Developer Vistry Partnerships has exchanged contracts with Homes England to build the homes on a site at Kingsdown.
All 80 homes will be affordable homes, located adjacent to the Willow Man sculpture which can be seen from the M5.
With outline planning permission for the site already in place following an application by Homes England, Vistry Partnerships will now work in partnership with housing provider Stonewater, with a view to construction beginning in early 2021.
The Bridgwater site is one of six across the country where Vistry Partnerships has recently exchanged contracts with Homes England.
Craig Currie, managing director of Vistry Partnerships West, said: “We are absolutely committed to building quality, affordable homes in areas where they are needed most.
"This 100 per cent affordable development in Bridgwater will have a major impact to the affordable homes provision for the community, giving local people a genuine opportunity to find a new home.
"We look forward to working closely with Stonewater to develop the proposals in the coming months.”
