A YOUNG woman reported missing over the weekend has been found "safe and well" following a police appeal.

Charlie Simmons had gone missing after going for a walk on Sunday afternoon.

Charlie, 28, from Leeds, sparked a police search in the Somerton area after she failed to return to her friend's home in the area.

Officers were concerned as she had no money on her and had gone out without her phone.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said this morning (Tuesday): "We’re happy to tell you that missing woman Charlie Simmons has been found safe and well.

"We’d like to thank everyone for sharing our appeal to find her."
