PAITIENTS at two dental practices in Taunton have been told they should be able to access a "full range" of treatments at the start of July.

The {my}dentist practices in Canon Street and Cheddon Road are likely to re-open with "limited treatments" following lockdown on Monday, June 15.

And the are expected to be fully up and running from July1.

The announcement comes after the Government said dental practices across England would be permitted to begin the process of re-opening "for all urgent and routine face to face dental care" from Monday, June 8.

Nyree Whitley, group clinical director for {my}dentists, said: "Throughout the pandemic, we have been clear that our first priority is the wellbeing of our patients and colleagues and this continues to be the case.

"As a result, {my}dentist practices will only be re-opening once we are satisfied that we have all of the necessary processes and personal protective equipment in place to ensure your safety.

"We currently expect to open practices on June 15 with limited treatments and further safety measures in place.

"Then, on July 1, we should be in a position to offer a full range of dental treatments across all of our practices in England.

"When you attend our dental practices there will be strict social distancing measures, enhanced protection for patients and colleagues, and temperature checks for everyone.

"We are determined to support patients who need care as quickly as possible and I would like to reassure you that we will be prioritising those patients who need urgent treatment, including those who have been experiencing pain or discomfort during lockdown."

Patients are currently being urged not to attempt to make new appointments and they should phone their local practice for advice or if they need urgent dental treatment.
