AVON and Somerset Police has issued more than 300 fines to people breaching lockdown rules since March 23.
The force has dished out a total of 346 fixed penalty notices to citizens not complying with the rules in place to minimise the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Of the 346 fixed penalty notices, 64 have been in the Somerset West area as defined by the constabulary which includes Taunton, Wellington, Bridgwater and West Somerset.
If the police believe you have broken the law, or if you refuse to follow their instructions when enforcing the law, you may be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £100, which will be reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days.
Repeat offenders will be fined double for each further breach up to £3,200.
For both individuals and companies, if you do not pay your fine you could be taken to court, with magistrates able to impose unlimited fines.
