A WEDDING worth more than £12,000 could be yours to win thanks to the generosity of a South Somerset venue.

Dillington House has made a massive wedding package available by joining forces with local business who have all agreed to waive their fees.

As well as a reception at the 16th century manor house, the lucky couple will win the 'crystal' package's three course meal and drinks, and much more.

Emily Brown, senior events co-ordinator at Dillington House, said: "We have come together with some of our amazing suppliers to offer the wedding of a lifetime to one lucky couple who deserve it most.

"If you’ve had to cancel your wedding or holiday, you’re a frontline worker selflessly working to help others, a parent home-schooling their children or even a couple who can no longer afford their dream wedding day, enter below tell us your story and have the chance to win your wedding.

"We'd like to say a massive thank you for the fantastic suppliers that have come together to offer this ultimate prize."

The grand prize includes a wedding gown up to the value of £500 from Prima Moda Brides, a DJ for four hours complete with lighting (Gerry from DJ at my Wedding), and a twilight spa package for two from Elements Boutique spa.

There is four hours of work from Studio H Photography (prints and albums still have a charge), and three hours of pre, post and ceremony filming from Hedgehog Video.

There will be flowers from Cottage Flowers, who will provide a bridal bouquet, three bridesmaids' flowers, six button holes, five centrepieces and the registrars table.

Melanie Todd Cake Design will be offering a full wedding cake and matching dessert table.

Bridal Hair by Helen is giving away a free hair trial, wedding day hair and wedding hair for one bridesmaid.

There will also be a free bridal make up and trial from Eye Do Makeup.

There will also be on the day entertainment:

  • The Bath magician will do 60 to 90 minutes of closeup magic at the canape reception,
  • A selection of LOVE letters wedding props from Enhanced Entertainment,
  • A Vintage Camper Booth two hour photo booth experience,
  • The chance to choose two from a chocolate fountain, photo booth, casino tables, selfies machine, or magic mirror, thanks to Funtasia Entertainment,
  • And there will be four minute fireworks display from Firestorm Pyrotechnics (after dark, and not available on November 5).

The final part of the package is a wedding celebrant, with pre-wedding consultation, all worth £600. This is being provided by Pauline Marston Ceremonies.

You will need to explain how the couple met, about your proposal and when and where this happened, describe your ideal wedding, and why you should win this wedding.

Dillington House was home to George III’s prime minister, Lord North, in the 18th Century and has been named by Simon Jenkins as one of England’s Thousand Best Houses.

Emily added: "We can’t wait to gift this unexpected couple the wedding of their dreams.

"We’ll be running a national competition for people to enter and tell us why they should win or couples can be nominated by friends and family."

The wedding party will consist of 40 guests maximum, (all guest numbers would be inclusive of children).

Extra guests are permitted up to 140 for the day reception and 250 for the evening which will incur additional charges.

A spokesman for the house added: "The prize will consist of complimentary exclusive use of Dillington Main House, including the Croquet Lawn and Sun Terrace, and the professional services of one of our wedding coordinators, and overnight accommodation including breakfast and VAT for the winning couple.

"Catering will include a three-course wedding breakfast based on our Crystal Package, with details available on our website.

"Drinks will include one welcome reception drink of prosecco or beer, a 175ml glass wine with the meal and a glass of prosecco for the toast.

The wedding would be held on an available date of your choice during November 2021.

All entries must be submitted by no later than 11.59pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

The draw will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
