FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a chimney fire in Taunton last night (Wednesday, May 13).
Crews from Taunton were called out to a property in Cheddon Road at around 7pm yesterday evening.
On arrival the team confirmed there was a chimney fire within the flue and got to work using chimney gear from the grate.
As the fire was unable to be extinguished from the grate, an additional fire appliance was called for so extra personnel to be able to tackle the fire from the roof.
Working from the roof using a specialised ladder and safety at height equipment, the fire was extinguished.
The roof space of the adjoining property was also checked.
