MORE than 1,000 motorists were clocked speeding by police in Avon and Somerset last month (April).
Officers issued 1,073 speeding notices - despite the roads being quieter due to the stay home coronavirus rules introduced in March.
A police spokesman said on social media: "There are less vehicles on the roads, but speed limits are there for your safety.
"1,073 speeding notices were issued in the last month and we have increased speed enforcement in hotspot areas.
"Take extra care with other road users."
