FIREFIGHTERS helped to rescue a man stuck up a tree in Minehead yesterday afternoon (Thursday, April 23).
On arrival at the scene the firefighters found the man was stuck approximately 15m high on the limb of the tree, unable to get himself back down.
Two fire appliances from Minehead, a specialist rescue team from Bridgwater and an aerial ladder platform from Taunton were all sent to the scene at the Rose Gardens in Minehead at 3.19pm.
The team got to work with 13.5m ladder to attempt to rescue him.
Due to difficulties reaching the man with the ladder, the incident commander requested the assistance of an aerial ladder platform and specialist rescue crews.
Police were requested to assist with a road closure, and the man was finally rescued using specialist rescue rope crews and ladders.
