A MAN who carried out a spate of thefts, stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods from supermarkets in Taunton has been jailed for 14 weeks.
Robert Catleugh, aged 34, of no fixed address, was sentenced for several counts of theft by Taunton Magistrates on Monday, April 13.
His crimes included stealing two bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey worth £61 from Tesco, two bottles of alcohol also worth £61 from Sainsburys, twice stole alcohol from Asda worth £193.50 and £72 respectively.
Catleugh was also sentenced for stealing a television from Asda worth £399, and two counts of not paying for petrol worth £20 and £30 respectively.
All of Catleugh’s offences took place between January 28 and March 4 of this year.
Catleugh’s guilty plea was taking into account when sentencing, and the magistrates ordered that he should spend 14 weeks in prison for his offences.
