THREE people who tested positive coronavirus in Somerset have died at Musgrove Park Hospital, it has been confirmed.
In a statement issued today (March 28) a spokesperson for Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, confirmed that three people have died at the hospital after testing positive for the virus.
The news comes just hours after Public Health England reported the largest daily jump in coronavirus related deaths in the UK since the pandemic began.
A spokesman for Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust said: “Sadly, we can confirm that three people who were being cared for at Musgrove Park Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.
“All three patients had underlying health conditions.
“Their families have been informed about the cause of death and are following national guidance.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with their families and friends at this difficult and distressing time. Out of respect for their privacy we will not be commenting further.”
