Taunton Town 3, Hendon 3

TWO goals from Matt Wright rescued a point for Taunton Town at home to Hendon on Wednesday night.

Having gone ahead through Harry Kite, the Peacocks found themselves 3-1 down at half-time, before staging a second-half recovery.

After an uneventful opening quarter, the hosts made the breakthrough courtesy of Kite, who fired home after good play involving Dan Demkiv.

But Hendon were level just two minutes later, as Nick Grimes deflected in Luca Allinson’s effort for an own goal, and eight minutes after that it was 2-1 - Joe White putting the visitors ahead.

A third goal in 12 minutes - this time from Simeon Olarerin - left Taunton trailing 3-1 and with a mountain to climb after the break.

The fightback started just after the hour mark, as captain Wright converted Jamie Short’s ball into the box.

Wright was there again to equalise with nine minutes left, heading in a Shane White cross for 3-3.

Neither side could find a winning goal, which meant a repeat of the result in this fixture last season - two goals from Wright having helped the Peacocks come back from 3-1 down on that occasion, too.
