THE Royal Bath and West Meeting at Taunton Racecourse, scheduled for this afternoon, has been abandoned.
A course inspection took place this morning, and confirmed that the recent wet weather had waterlogged the track.
Taunton Racecourse announced: "Following a further 10mm of rainfall overnight the course is waterlogged with false patches of ground and we have therefore abandoned today's racing."
The next fixture at Taunton is due to be the William Hill Race Day on Monday, March 9.
Free tickets are available for that meeting, which must be applied for online in advance before midnight on March 1 (via www.tauntonracecourse.co.uk).
