SWING Fever is the first free concert thanks to Music on the Levels in 2020.

This six-piece band plays a mixture of jazz styles and popular music.

Mac Kirby, leader and trumpet player, said: “We have been around a very long time and have done a lot of travelling in the past.”

Swing Fever has travelled extensively all around the world and one of its most prestigious gigs was in Ned Kelly’s famous jazz club in Hong Kong.

However, in recent years the band has stayed closer to home playing at many venues in and around Weston-super-Mare.

Mac added: “We try and play a wide range of music, hopefully something for everyone.”

Swing Fever will be at St Mary’s Church in St Mary’s Church, Main Road, Westonzoyland, TA7 0EP, on Sunday, January 26 at 3.30pm.

Admission to the concert is free thanks to a grant from Westonzoyland Parish Council and the generous donations from members of the audiences.

Teas are available at a modest charge to enjoy before and during the concert and are served from around 3.00pm.

The church is open all day and features an interactive exhibition about the Monmouth Rebellion and the Battle of Sedgemoor, 1685.

There is no need to book. You just turn up at the church in time to be seated by 3.30 pm.
